Laser hair removal works by targeting pigment within the hair follicle. Because individual hairs move through different stages of the growth cycle, multiple treatments are necessary to effectively treat hairs as they enter the appropriate growth phase.

Your treatment plan will depend on the area being treated, hair color and density, skin tone, hormonal influences, and your individual response to treatment. Some areas may also benefit from periodic maintenance after the initial treatment series.

Laser hair removal is most effective when the hair contains enough pigment for the laser to target. Blonde, gray, white, and very lightly pigmented hair may not respond well to laser treatment. For hair that cannot be effectively treated with laser, electrolysis may be an alternative.
